Well, there will be no restoring this steering relay……it blew apart during removal. I have an NOS unit coming from Pangolin.
Front axle out, next the rear, then they will be set aside for a bit while I get the frame ready for blasting.
Nice!! Drive flange nut improvised cotter pin!
Intake and exhaust will get prepped and sent off to Jet Hot for ceramic coating.
Intake and exhaust prepped for shipping, bottom plates, shackles, steering arms blasted and ready for primer.
Primed parts ready to be sent to Autobahn for sealer and paint.
Transmission crossmember “de-skinned”……….it had some pretty severe rock damage and repair was out of the question, so I had to make a new one. Inside was taken down to bare metal etched and primed with SEM CopperWeld.
Eighth inch plate plasma cut to the correct dimension.
Transmission mount access holes bored, seventeen holes per side will be marked and drilled for rosette welds.
Drilled and bent.
All welded up……….and I’m calling it a little better than new based on the slightly heavier stock used……….good to go!
thanks for the inspiration!
