Trailer Hitch for the Bar

The current project truck, The Bar, went off to Vermont Custom Auto this morning for a custom exhaust. The truck is tied up for the day, so I knocked out a little side project, trailer hitch, I’ve been meaning to get to. It’s a knock-off of the Pangolin 4×4 design that’s on the Merc 88.

Home made plasma cutting table, and the Hypertherm 45. Tough to beat plasma for cutting thick material.

I used a hefty 3/4 inch end mill to carve out a pocket for the receiver to slide in to. The mill matched the outer corner radius of the receiver perfectly.

Base plate machined to fit receiver, all the pieces fit nicely, I’ll weld it up tomorrow night.
